Mike...........its funny you mention the BAT action as I had the same experience with a brand new one I was chambering for a shooting buddy. I called Dave Tooley to see if he had a tap I could borrow to chase the threads but he did not. His advice was to contact Bruce Thom at BAT. I did and sent it to him. He fixed the problem and sent it back to me at no charge! Yes, I was sick when it happened thinking about having to shell out about $1400 for a new action! Bruce advised me to cut my threads on the loose side rather than trying to get a nice snug fit. He claimed they tried both ways and the loose threaded barrel/action shot just as good as the tight one. Richard

Ive been using white plumbers tape forever, maybe i"m having problems and don't know about, easy to over think any issue

Meters129, you were right. At home depo they had lots of the white tape in easy-to-see bins, but I found yellow and grey tape halfway down the plumbers isle in small bins.
