With several Tacticool/Pro Varmint stocks now being used here by members, I thought I'd share one of a lil different flavor that I am currently having put together. This one will be a savage 400/408 Pacnor build, being built by Myers129. I ordered this one in high gloss, custom LOP, Pachmeyer pad and laser etching. Looks like it's gonna make a beauty.

One last view, sorry for the separate images, posting them from my phone, so it's the best I could do between android/photobucket and Doug's.

Thats a sharp looking stock Guy. Almost too nice to take to the woods. That maxwell will make a nice compartment to hold bullets and primers.

Thats a darn nice looking stock! Can you give specifics on how you ordered it? Where did you order it from?

The plan is to have a hidden compartment for extra loads and or bullets/primers. I ordered the stock from Boyd's, just select the stock you want, then select custom options and go thru the list and choose what all options you want. They make it pretty simple actually, once the order is placed it usually only takes a couple weeks to have your custom stock. I have an all black one for a Rem project as well plus the one on the .392 shorty. I like these stocks...

I like the color. My luck I would scratch it on the first hunt! Do you have a pic of the black one for the Rem build?

Finish looks pretty good to me, I'm not sure if anyone here has one that has seen a season of use yet. 7mmfreak stripped his and applied his own finish and it looks great. Have yet to hear someone say they disliked anything about these stocks.

Just bought a brand new Rem 700 muzz yesterday and looking for ideas. Have two .45's so it may become a .40. Working on a deal for a McMillian A3 that my local gunsmith.

I love my black tacticool and thx ohioguy for the recommendation. Mine went through the season with flying colors. Took a 170+" 10pt at 340yds and a coyote at 614yds. Could not be happier.

That is quite a shot on a coyote at that distance. Good shooting.

Ohio guy, soon after getting a lefty thumbhole stock for my Rem build and getting it bedded, you posted what I believe was your first Tacticool stock. It, too, was a beautiful stock. I had wished ever since I had known that they could be ordered in something besides black. The thumbholes are too thin in the recoil area to install a mercury recoil reducer and last year when practicing, got sick and tired of the thump of each shot (even with the zero kick rest). I already had the reducer so decided to break down and get the Pro Varmint in Forest Camo. With the reducer and more comfortable stock, it's like shooting a different rifle. It could be said that you cost me more money. But I thank-you. They ARE great stocks. And it's so nice to actually enjoy shooting it with heavier bullets off the bench now. That electric blue is beautiful. Should make a good tree stand rifle blending in with the blue sky!

Earnhardt, like Omega stated, this one is sky laminate (Blue) according to Boyd's chart. Danno, sorry about that, but glad you also like the tacticool/pro varmint. It's became my personal favorite stock, especially for the price. The price does get up there a little bit when you custom order one like my Blue one, but still well worth every penny in my opinion. They are a very comfortable and functional stock, and you can even get them pretty if ya want to spend the extra money. Even tho the Blue one will be very nice, it will not be a safe queen, it's going to be a hard working 400/408.
