I have had 3 perfect days of no wind or sun and 30 degree weather. The gun si shooting about moa out to 170 yards with 200sst or 195 bx (both knurled to .404 ) with 60 gr of N120 and blue crush rib sabots. I will get some targets posted later (family Christmas) . Looks like Sunday morning will also be a perfect day for shooting. I now have a baseline and can start to tweak it. I also want to check for temp stability with the temperature changes. I am low on 200sst so it looks like the barnes 195 will be doing the testing. Do you think that the higher speed with the N120 and my loose barrel is what closed up the groups? Around 2700 fps seems like a good number for my goal. Any ideas on duplexes to get in that range. I read stay away from 110/120.
How about
110/322 4759/120 110/4198
Thanks

When I have shot the bullets you indicate I have had good luck with 10 grains of 4759 and 50 grains of 4198. I do not however know how 120 would work or substitute. Generally the Barnes are smaller and fit more loosely so they are not quite as accurate for me. Both will anchor deer well.

I would get some Barnes 290 gr T-EZs that Luke has on special and some Dry Wool Wads with 10 gr/50 gr IMR SR4759/H4198 powder ignited by a Winchester 209 Primer. I shot a .9 MOA 6 shot group at 100 meters with that combination this afternoon. It was one ragged hole. Good Luck tomorrow.

When I was still shooting sabots, 10/49.5 N110/H322 approx. 2700fps with a knurled 195 Barnes worked well for me.
