I'm going to try and build me a 22-250 with a 16-18" barrel and I'm leaning towards a 1-8 twist to shoot heavier bullets. Anyone have some load data or range time with a 22-250 with this twist.

I have shot fast twist .22-250 before but any 16-18" .22-250 I would build would be marked .223 Wylde. My recommendation is that if you want a .22-250 you use enough barrel to make it scream and then cut it back if it is not handy enough for you. Or you build short and chamber in .223 Wylde then if it is so slow that it is causing you to miss you re-chamber to .22-250. You might be different but I don't have a use for a short .22-250 (or any use for a .22-250 for that matter); been there, tried that, and want something like a .223 Wylde or .243 Win instead depending on need.
If you must try this, and by heavies you mean 75-90gn bullets, my picks would be RL19 and H4831SC. You can also use powder as fast as H4350 and as slow as RL22.

Do some research with a careful eye on barrel longevity with a fast twist '250. Most shoot the 75 Amax over Varget or R15 for top accuracy and BC but barrel life is relatively short. Keith is giving you some sound advice on cal and barrel length. The .223 doesn't sound romantic nor fast but it accounts for more Coyotes (opinion) than all other cals combined if only because they are so plentiful and inherently accurate. A fast twist .223 is capable of outstanding accuracy and what you save on powder you can spend on high BC bullets that hold there own at long range. Either choice is much better than a .308 IMO---which could be dangerous in flat country with a heavy jacketed bullet.

One could consider the 243 too.
