As we start a new chapter in SML and go to long range pursuit I thought this video would maybe humble us all a little when it comes to hunting. I have always been interested in long range hunting but I need to remind myself that I/we owe the game I/we hunt respect when it comes to ethical hunting and I thought this video was well thought out.
Enjoy,

Is that 1.5 at 100yds? If so Before I gave up on it that is what I had my ml2 shooting. And it didn't cost $5500.

Another thing I noticed was they were only getting the 325 mh to 2400, they ain't got nothing on Earnhardt! Lol ? But the moral of the story here is we need to respect the game enough that we put more than a couple hours shooting and then hit the field. This is when it comes to long range hunting (anything past 250-300 yards), IMO. If we are looking at shooting "long range" we need to shoot, research, shoot, research, shoot, research. Figure field bc, shoot in all conditions, take notes, and check bullet expansion at certain speeds. All of this is what really fuel's me with this sport, there is so much to it and there is always something more to learn.

I believe gunwerks muzzleloaders are not smokeless. They shoot subpowder and sabots.

Gunwerks: Our Muzzleloader is based on our LRM-500 action. This action features a built in 209 primer holder on the bolt , a removable breechplug and twin rear locking lugs. The barrel features precise dimensions of bore and groove with minimal deviation in diameter from breach to muzzle. The heavy 45 caliber bullet is stabilized in a unique MMP sabot with a fast twist barrel. We offer loads in smokeless powder or black powder substitute that attain 2200 fps muzzle velocity. Combined with a 0.400 G1 BC, a 2200 fps muzzle velocity retains adequate impact velocity for lethality at 500 yards, and deflects only one MOA per 100 yards for a 10 mph wind. That’s only 5 MOA at 500 yards!

I love watching Mike and Aaron on the GunWerks videos. I think the key to there "system" is their rangefinder. If you had a $1700 rangefinder and do the research to find and input the correct data.....that rangefinder will tell you what to dial your scope to....of course you need to have the terrain to gain the experience to shoot like they do. Still amazing to me and they aren't shooting T Rex loads.

and I think there are quite a few guys on this forum IF they had that rangefinder, the terrain and a good supply of MH's or APB's they would be dinging gongs all day long at 800+ yards.

I'm thinking that 2300-2400fps and a 325gn bullet is more than enough to get any job done... Zen
