I know this doesn't go here, but most don't read the other forums.
I'm having another Encore conversion done and want to get a black flex tech forearm and buttstock hydro-dipped. I need to remove the flex tech material to have this done, but after much research I still don't know how to do it. I do t want to just jump into it and destroy something. Anybody have any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Don

Can they/you/whomever just primer prep the existing and go right over it? Or am I missing the idea? (Probably) lol
I've seen that stuff dipped in person and it is for sure wicked cool. No idea how they get it off but the stuff I saw stuck like it would need to be sanded off.

You might have to get it plastic bead blasted? They do Corvettes that way when they want to strip them. Check your local body shop and ask if they know who does it? Or check with sand blasters, they might also do it? Richard

The Flex-Tech is some kind of proprietary silicone/rubber formula. On the factory stocks I'm sure the dip them before installing the Flex-tech.
There are Hydrographics places that do these stocks and charge a fee to remove and replace the flex-tech so there has to be a way.

To be clear the flex-tech is the gripping portion/recoil reducing portion on a TC Prohunter stock set.

I'm just going to pay the Hydro place to do it, it must be a trade secret. I tried to ask a couple of a hydro-dippers how it was done but they wouldn't give it up.
