OK next step, 6mm build need some help

The stock is fit and bedded. I custom made aluminum pillars to join the floor plate trigger guard to the action through the plastic stock. I bedded "Just" the action around the recoil lug and made the barrel free float from there to the end. Had to do a bunch of "Milling" behind the trigger on the guard to let it pull freely. Got the Burris mounts and rings on, and found a follower , still need a spring. NOW I have to address the ejector.



I Found a "Swedish" Mouser ejector box assembly.



NOW What ?
I took off the spring thing that holds the bolt in but Can't see how the 'Box can attach to the action What am I missing? I don't have anything to look at, this being my only mauser.
Am I even in the right spot with this?

Yours is a bit different then a 98 that you showed pictures of ejector/bolt stop. They attach to a ear that is on the receiver,





Look for another screw or pin that comes in from the top that is the fulcrum point which should be in about the same location as the 98 box screw or the yellow mark,



Some of the South American mausers had a seperate screw for a simpler ejector spring.

Thanks, I found out it will not work.
I found one that may a 91 Argentine Mauser.

Are you having ejector problems?

To be honest I've messed with a fair share of Mausers in my day and have never seen a ejector/bolt stop quite like yours. There was a guy that was making custom ones by welding a pad on the rear and calling them an "extended" bolt stop but the ones I seen were the standard K98s that were modified.

Doesn't kick the brass out at all.
I have never seen a Mauser with the screw in front and side ways.
Not that I have seen ore held many Mausers.
It would help If I Knew what action I have, NO marks on the action at all foe ID.

If you open the bolt and bring it all the way to the rear does the ejector swing into the slot at the bolthead? Should look something like this,,



You can bend them and you think your against the bolt stop but your being stopped by the bent ejector. If you do not see the ejector come into the slot, you can swing the bolt stop out and you can see most of the ejector. You could have some FOD in the slot or that spring you have is weak.

Nope not at all.
That peace that is sticking out on your pic Is no where to be seen on mine. The peace is there just not sticking out when I opens.

Did you re-install the spring? if so next pull the bolt out, then make sure the bolt stop/ejector box is back in the normal position. The ejector should swing out and check the spring tension. Also look at the groove in the bolt to make sure nothing is in it.

I haven't gotten the new parts I've ordered yet. The bolt stop and ejector I have on right now is the one in the picture. Only 4 parts the out side spring holds it all in the screw holds the spring. In side there is the ejector "Blade" and the thumb push to drop the bolt out. The Blade does move in and out but doesn't extend past the face of the bolt. Maybe modified NOT to eject. The action and barrel where from a bench rest long range gun... Over at "Mauser Central" they all seam to think the action is a Herters J-9 intermediate length action made by BSA, made in the early 60's Maybe if I got a replacement "Blade" it would work as is?

Depends how close it is to a 98. Then again the ejector should be just a piece of flat metal and you could make a new one. It would make sense that a benchrest guy would cut the ejector back so it wouldn't fling brass. There was a craze a few years back on bottom ejecting actions.

In the 60s the British gun makers were scrambling to stay in business. Firms like BSA and even Gibbs would import actions and work them over to what ever grade you wanted for US importers. The only J9 I have seen had "Made in Czechoslovakia" on the left side just in front of the standard K98 ejector so it was made by CZ. One guy told me you could find them marked made in Yugoslavia and Germany also. But IIRC Herters offered several grades. Herters even offered them as actions and even with Douglas barrels.
