It sounds like you like the Weaver scope, any real differences as compared the Nikon?

Did they have the shooters in different groups by weight? If so, do you know who the overall winner was and what they were shooting?

2 classes and yes seperated by gun weight i think. 9.5 lbs lite class and over 9.5 is unlimited class . We won overall and other class winner was shooting a knight long range hunter. Interesting part was two ultimate muzzle loaders were in our class and couldnt . Deliver

Encore50a and board
I need to apologize for my post about class weights and light weight class winner. I was told by range official lite class was 9.5 lbs its actually 10 lbs and under and unlimited. Above10 lbs. And only rules are muzzle loaded and no smokeless powder. We won unlimited class with a 245 and 8 x. And lite class was won by a ultimate ml 248 and 7 x i was told a knight lrh won lite class sorry for mis informed post.

encore50a thanks for posting ultimate muzzleloader recent post on there site . im confused a great deal . his post states he won a championship for national shoot and has since its conception . so im amazed didnt know it was a championship. was just a tournament. and has won event sinc its conception so id like to post this picture of a gun that a fellow board member now owns that won both spring and fall shoot in 2013 .

bestill.............. I don't have a clue how those matches/championships work and need to understand it a lot better myself. There are so many different aggregate matches, its hard to figure out which is which, let alone who any "overall" winner is. What I "think" I know is, Ultimate Firearms top shooters, Tim Marsh and his father Harry, don't shoot every match.
What I do know is, ALL the shooters who attend any of these events are great shots, regardless of the make rifle they shoot. Its on my "wish list" to attend a shoot in the future, not to participate, but to learn how the events are ran and watch great shooters in action.

You would enjoy inline match we shoot. 50 yds 6 targets first practice then next 5 are one shot each for score total50 -5 x. 5 th target is tie breaker for whole match then 100 yds same setup then 200 yds get 8 shots score best 5 . So thats 3 matchs for total150 -15x be perfect. Then silhouettes. 200 meters you get spotter chicken to shoot then you have 5 chickens on rail to shoot in order 10 points each 50 point match and then small pigs 300meters same setup . So 5 matches perfect score is 250 -15x . Also each match you 30 minutes to complete.
Side note marsh fellows are top notch shooters and guns are rite on. But im a bit confused with jim Stewart news flash on ultimate muzzleloader site. They are making conplete false claims about national championship Saturday may 3rd and he has one everyone since inception.. fact is there has been 3 events shot like Saturday and Greg Fisk won overall for events spring and fall 2013. And he placed 2nd in overall Saturday which was 3rd event ever competed . My 2 cents worth .

Is shooting required from bags only or are sleds allowed? So you have 5 separate matches to shoot and with each match you have 30 minutes to shoot your five rounds (total 150 minutes to shoot 25 rounds)?
My major shooting problem right now is......... weather and unacceptable range conditions. Here at home I can shoot 150yds, but that's about it. I've been trying to talk the wife into letting me bring a dozer in and stretching out to 200yds. It doesn't seem to be working.... To shoot any further I have to shoot at a club 30 miles away. The distance isn't a problem, a wet range is. We've had so much snow and followed by all this rain, that the road to the 600yd range is closed to keep vehicles from causing ruts. I shot it once and had to carry everything in 100yds to the bench. I'm getting a little old to cart all the equipment that far, then walk through water to hang targets at 400yds. So I'm setting here with a new rifle, plenty of propellant and bullets, and instead of shooting, I'm on this darn computer. The Weather Channel just reported we have another seven (7) days of more rain coming too.
I was forced to take a year off shooting because of eye problems, which ended up with four surgeries. It started out in my shooting eye with a torn and detached retina. That surgery was a success but, it also caused what the surgeon called "a rapidly growing cataract", and he wasn't kidding about the rapid part. I went completely blind in the eye and remained blind for four (4) months, until he allowed me to have the cataract surgery. Well, one thing led to another and then the left eye had to have cataract surgery also. I had a total of three weeks of great vision, then the left eye started going bad and blurry. That turned into another surgery, to drain the eye fluid, flush the eye, then fill the eye with saline. The saline has been replaced with the normal eye fluid now, and I actually have better vision. March 12th 2013 through March 12th 2014, doing absolutely nothing. However.. all is good now, thank the Good Lord!
By summer's end, I'll hopefully have this rifle shooting great, but better yet, I'll have built up my confidence with it. I posted that 400yd target I shot, the first ever with a muzz and with a loose scope you could move by hand. I'm not complaining about a 6" group in 15mph sustained winds and 22mph gusts with a loose scope. That.... which I believe I have taken care of, by changing the bases to Warne and the QR Leupold rings.

you can only have one contact point with gun to rest by bags or rest . so basically front rest and then up to shooter. can use bench or shoot off ground with sticks or bi-pod. amen for healthy eye. what part of country you live in.

Sounds like 100grs weighed of BH and 25 rounds would be enough for a day.........

crazy knight update ! been striving for excellence and got closer today after range day. this is a rebarreled knight mountaineer . i started build with 28" barrel and 209 ignition and gun shot great to 200 yds but accuracy fell apart passed that . so kinda started over cut barrel to 25.5" and 17 degree target crown. made new breech plug for pr lrp module and reworked bolt face to accept pr module. made new firing pin .075 ball tip and bushing in bolt for new pin . plug has .090 flame channel x 1.000 and .031 carbide bushing. im very happy with end result. pic above is 3 shot group at 100 yds then moved target to 300 yds and doped scope 6.25 moa 3 shot group . wish i would have doped windage for 7 mph wind . preparing for aggregate NRA inline qualifier match being shot at friendship next week . national event so get opportunity to see alot of great sub guns and different ideals .

How did you switch the barrel in the action?

Bored id of receiver out full length and cut shoulder on barrel to install with.002 press fit . Heated action in heat treat oven and froze barrel to install. Then remachined all openings and thread holes.
