I have been pleased with the Weavers. Occasionally I think Natchez has them at steep discounts. sw may use them also if you wanted to contact him. Rossman also always seems to be current on the details of scopes and most everything. You might also give him a shout.

I have a Weaver Super Slam Euro 4-20x50, I really like it. Nikons always seem to be good as well, tough choice and I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Your basicly dealing with the Japanese optics mafia. Nikon went thru a big shake-up with the model line-up. The Prostaff is still there but there is now a upgraded Prostaff 5 and the Monarchs are a bit lowered to the Monarch 3. The top of the line Monarch X and Gold will become the Monarch 7 line, right now they are only showing 2 models and I do not think they have even hit the states yet. Production has shifted to the Philippines which isn't a bad thing, they seem to have all the bugs worked out and finally a well trained workforce.
The Weaver line just keeps getting better. The Super Slam is a great scope with the only drawback being a bit heavy. One rep told me the new Nightforce SHV line is basicly a Super Slam Euro with maybe a tad cheaper glass and a SFP reticle. The Super Slams are still coming off the line at Light Optical Works (LOW) in Japan with other high end scopes. It will be interesting to see how ATK/Federal decides to go with their marketing strategy now that they sneaked in and bought Bushnell last fall.
You can't go wrong with ether scope. You have to figure out what features you want on your next scope and then what models from different brands fit your specs. If you can catch a Super Slam at a real good price then your ahead. I'm going probly Weaver or Vortex on my next one.

Not really a game changer, everybody has a app for a smartphone coming out nowadays. You can do the same thing for just about any scope with a Strelok app.

The Nikon Spoton looks like it is a version of the Strelok program. With the paid version of Strelok (Strelok+) you get the reticles of over 200 scopes plus you can save 10 rifles with 10 different loads for each rifle. Plus it will allow you to adjust the trajectory if the load doesn't quite fit (they call it "truing"). www.borisov.mobi/StrelokPlus/default.aspIf you like using the Spoton and have other makes of scopes look at it.
