About 20 years ago I purchased a monarch straight 4x. The horizontal dial didn't work, so I sent it back. When I got it back and put it on a rifle, the horizontal dial came off in my hand. In total disgust I put the thing on the shelf and there it sat until 2 months ago. I finally had need of a scope so I finally sent it back in. I got back a new 2.5 x 10 monarch. Oh and both the dials work. I be very pleased with the outcome

Send that broken Zeiss back in 2034 and see if you get a new one in your mailbox with 0 questions asked.

How is it bad customer service? He didn't wait 20 years for a replacement. He just finally got around to mailing it back for a replacement. You did well and an upgrade to boot!!

I would say the customer service was terrible when he sent it back for repairs and it fell apart upon its return... I would have probably let it sit on the shelf for 20 years also. now todays sevice was good... but to tell you the truth I would consider it average for an upper end company...By todays standards. And OhioGuy... I have no fears that 20 years from now Zeiss will honor any warranty issues I might incure. I am so secure in this that I am ordering a couple more tomorrow. this will make 9 of them in the last 90 days. 8 of those are in the old Conquest line. And one in the new HD line. Yup I got lottsa confidence in their customer service. Thanks Drop

Dad always said. Anyone can buy all the air jordans they want or can afford, but that will never make them an NBA star. To each his own.

Back to the real topic. Glad Nikon made good and you also got upgraded in the process. Happy shooting and hopefully it serves you well.

You are correct that I AM THE ONE that left it on the shelve for 20 years, If I would of turned around and sent it back in right away it would of probably been corrected 20 years ago and the # of burris fulfield II that I have would of been a lot less. I got carried away in my ramblings the whole deal was I sent in a broke 20 year old scope and got a better one back with 0 hassle. I would say the CS that I received today was really good.
