To me it isn't up for a vote. I claim the right to bear arms and as far as I am concerned there is no question to be decided. I do have arms and sometimes I do carry arms. The question is: Does anyone have the authority to prevent me from doing it.

I agree with Ozark. In N.Y. there are a slew of gun laws proposed. One is to renew your gun permit every five years. Now if someone forgets to renew in time, does that mean the law will show up at your house to confiscate your firearms? I don't understand the inconsistency of gun laws. I see on the news that down south, a person can go in and buy an armful of guns, no question asked. But in some states it is very hard for people to obtain a handgun permit. I strongly support background checks, but that's about it.

Unfortunately it was up for a vote last November. More people voted for CHANGE than voted for preservation of the United States Constitution. A nation gets the government it deserves.
