Been buying pieces and parts for almost a year when I could afford it. It was a lot of reading and research along the way before getting the final product completed. I did most of the work other than any machining and screwing the barrel on. I have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn. I credit this sites knowledgeable members and the great info they provide for the success I have had so far. I used Karl Kampfelt for the bolt fluting and knob, Luke for the bolt nose and barrel purchase and Guppy to replace the barrel & headspace the breech plug. All are fine gentleman and big thanks to Guppy for bringing me into his shop and showing me how the process works. I think with an action wrench and barrel vise I could do my own from now on. Anyhow, here are the specs and a couple quick pics. Remington 700ML SS action PacNor SS Fluted .45 barrel 25" Callahan recoil lug Savage breech plug & Hunter bolt nose B&C Varmint style BDL stock - Green with Black Web Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad EGW Picatinny Mount Burris 6-hole Tacical Rings Leupold Vx III 4.5-14x40 I will be starting out shooting a 10/50 duplex load of SR4759/IMR4198 over a 195gr Barnes and 200gr SSt's. Most of my shots will be 300 yards or less so right now I dont need to go sabotless. Maybe someday. Read more: dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/thread/14708/first-custom-build-completed#ixzz2rFbcLS9Y

I have not bedded the stock or base. Wanted to shoot it first (by recommendation) and see if it needs it. I know it is probably a good bet to do it anyhow. This stock has an aluminum bedding block that runs all the way to the front swivel. Hope it shoots as is.

Thanks guys. I learned a lot and had a good time through the process. I have stainless bottom metal coming yet and should be here next week. Now if the temp would get out of the single digits and the wind to lay down.
