Good morning, I have recently became a member on this board and have asked a few questions about the Encore sml conversion. I decided I am done with the Encore platform for a while. I bought a Remington 700 ml yesterday that had only 5 shots through it and it looks brand new. If anyone has time, I would like to see some pics of 700 sml's you've built and if possible a short list of work done on them to help me decide what direction I want to go. Thanks Mike.

Not sure if this will work, trying to copy and paste it. You can dig back thru some older threads, there are many pics of members builds on here, from mild to wild. Mine was built by hillbill. 26" Mcgowen, 1-22" twist, bushing plug, B&C M40 stock, fluted bolt and knob. Stock and bases bedded, factory trigger (nice and crisp)

I saved this link before doing mine. It has several very good ones. Link to some photos. Here are mine. One has been Black Iced, very very happy with that. It sits on a factory camo stock with bull barrel contour. The Sendaro barrel is a drop in fit. Not the best stock out there, but I still like it and the gun shoots great. I lucked out when I bought the two donor guns and found one of them came with a Timney trigger and it is used with this gun. The other sits on a Boyds thumbhole stock that was free floated and bedded by Luke. He did a wonderful job with that!

Ohioguy, how does your McGowan barrel shoot? How is that m40 stock for hunting? You guys have some really nice guns,I'm trying to decide between pacnor and McGowan and b&c and boyds.

Mine shoots good. I havent got to try alot of different loads yet, but im positive this gun shoots better than I can. I've really only been shooting the 275 Match Hunters so far, sabotless with 11/59 and 12/58 duplex's of N110/H322 and a .060 Veggie wad, Federal primers. The gun balances well and I like the stock a bunch. It is heavy, so if a heavy gun bothers you, this may not be the route to go. I have no complaints with the gun, caliber, stock or workmanship. I like my Mcgowen, parker bullets fit very well right out of the box, no sizing, no knurling. Load and go. I believe some of the newer pacnors are a little looser than they used to be and the parkers go straight down them as well. Used to be, seemed like the pacnors were generally tighter and the parkers had to be sized for fit. That is the main reason I chose the Mcgowen and I have no regrets. There are a bunch of members who know alot more than I do about these SML's, I just watched and read and learned and asked questions to end up with what I have, I am grateful to all of them and I as well have alot to learn yet. Hope I answered your questions. The sky is the limit with builds, it's alot of tough choices to be made when building one.

Got my first build almost done, Well its shooting just have to decide on a few things before I get the metal work all done up. Rem 700ML action Pac-nor 45 barrel from Luke Callahan Lug Boyd Prairie Hunter stock pillar bedded (ended up having to sand town the top rails so that the bolt retaining screw would come out, side benifit it made them thicker when I opened the barrel channel up. Plenty of meat left) Jewell Trigger (one thing that actually lived up to all the hype)1 Burris Signature Zee Rings Nikon omega 250 scope off my inline. (like the eye relief, have to try some longer ranger with only the 9x and see how that works out) Bushing breech plug Have a order in for a swing lock FF die to shoot the 310 ABP's. Waiting too see what the recoil is like and then decide weather i want a brake or not. Also considering bolt fluting/knob upgrade. Once those decisions are made I plan to have the metal work all black. Leaning strongly to sending it all to Black Ice for coating. Late muzzle loader is coming up here in Iowa just going to shoot the 200 sst for this season. First few 5 shot groups were under MOA. Weighs in at 10lb on the nose with the scope. Surprised at how well balanced it feel and that it actually points well.

This is my first RemPac build. The work was done by Hillbill. It's a 27" PacNor #7 .458 Bobby Hart Long Range Varmint Thumbhole with bedding block in "birch" laminate. Murphey stainless base and a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 scope, bushing plug.
