Took my new Hillbill .45 RemPac to Indiana looking for a Midwest bruiser. Saturday and Sunday were very slow with warm temps and storms. Monday turned off colder and deer movement picked up dramatically. I watched this buck trailing a doe across a big cut corn field while herding her away from a group of does feeding and two small 8 pointers trying to horn in on his action. I'm shooting the magical 70gr H4198 and Parker 300MH load and I'm zeroed at 200. I ranged the deer at 208 and as soon as he gave me a good shot I took it. Bullet hit just where I wanted it to and exited through the off shoulder. The deer mule kicked and plowed ground for around 40 yards or so and was done in just a few seconds. The first shot at game with my Hillbill special put down my best buck to date, 240# 10pt, green scored at 157" gross. Thanks to Hillbill for building such an awesome rifle and everyone on here for all that I've learned since I started trying to learn the smokeless secrets!

I call BS. There are no big bucks here in Indiana.
Congrats on the nice deer, where ever you shot it.

That's a nice looking buck. Congratulations! And a good looking rig. How did you black out the flutes on the barrel? And do you find the bold knob to make the bolt handle to long?. Thank you Drop

You certainly did things correctly: got the right rifle for the job, certainly have "a" right bullet, great load, right place, and did your part with the right shot. When you have a chance please give details on the rifle, your bullet sizing, trajectory , etc.
