I need advice. I primarily xbow hunt. A very few days of the year, I hunt with my 40 PacNor 10ML2 out to a max of 350 yds. My Bushnell Bino/Rangefinder is mysteriously missing . My back-up is a Bushnell Sport. I now need another primary rangefinder. The Bino version worked great in fog, low light, etc: the B Sport does not work well in either, but great otherwise. I am being very price conscious on this purchase(recently bought refurbished SZ380 from Wyvern, AND a 300 hr , used Kubota L3800 4-wd,box blade, tiller, Wolf 60" bush hog,FEL). I've about gone thru my hunting allowance for this year. Looking at Aug/Sep Natchez catalog and considering the Nikon or Leupold models:preferably the more economical models. Most impt to me: low light capability, 6. , 5, or even 4x but not 8x, small size, at least actual 400 yd range, .5 or .1 yd below 100 yds(not necessary), incline/decline would be nice but not necessary, cost. All I've used are Bushnell RFs. What are your suggestions?

without using this unit I would take a chance on this for the price. www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=BH&prodID=BH200003WD&prodTitle=Demo Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend 930 Laser Rangefinder for bowhunting I have used the bushnell yardage pro 800 & very satisfied for that purpose & mid range mz. for my long range mz leica 1600. I did not like leupold's as well for quickness but they had better glass I would not rule out 8x imo-never a problem ranging even up short but to each his own/hope that helps! good luck

Don't underestimate the new Leupold's...................catching onto a big following. Don't own one but used one of the new TBR DNA 1000's at the range with a buddy and quickness was not a problem!
Read reviews and check them out......gonna be hard to beat at the $$$.

my remark on leupolds was on older model's approx. 6yrs ago-not a fair comparison, probably newer models much better & that would be good. just not on the newest cutting edge of rangefinders nowdays/my bad

Hi, Steve, I think this may be the first time ever you considered price as part of an evaluation. I don't have a specific bang for-the-buck recommendation, but agree with you on the limit of magnification. My own Leica's are 7X and that is absolutely the highest I would go; I enjoy glassing with that magnification, but it's a challenge to hold steady while "pulling the trigger" on the range finder. I use an older Bushnell 800. Accurate out to it's max rang, but not very bright, and not good eye relief for glasses. Max range on a deer seems to be about 360 yds, and then it must be on a fairly sunny day. I would like something better, with longer range capability, but Leica is out of my budget. Boarhog

I made the choice, AND price was a consideration. In the past, my airplane was my major hobby expense(even though I do much of the work); but now, with the addition of the tractor/tiller/bush hog/ FEL/box blade/considerable # of ammonia/19-19-19/food plot seeding/etc, I'm not sure that the hunting hobby is not catching up. I got a Leupold 600i and do like it. A step up from the B Sport. Likewise, a b/u xbow - a refurbished SZ380 from Wyvern Creations and 24 Lazer 3 Pros for my 2 SZs, etc have had their effect. Fortunately, no MLing supplies or guns needed: I have a lifetime supply of everything I expect. Thanks, and have a great hunting season!

There you go, thought it would suit you........drowning in central AR too, has killed us getting any pics of our upper end bucks.......too dang much for them to eat right now! Green as spring!
