I had a guy bring me a MKA1919 to get a quote on customizing. For you guys not familiar with this model it is an AR lookalike semi-auto clip fed 12ga being made in Turkey. It looks like an AR and the controls are in the same place but that is where the similarities ends. It uses a barrel/gas system much like a 1100. And a lot of plastic! The front sight post, the carry handle rear sight and the lower is all plastic. If you do take the carry handle off you have a picatinny rail on the aluminum upper. Magazines are available in 2, 5 and 10 round flavors. Anyway the guy was wanting a rifled slug barrel made and while I said it was doable there was more then just welding involved so I sent him to ER Shaw. Then he wanted the barrel on it now fluted, my reply was you don't flute thin shotgun barrels. Anyway he is going to get back with me and we are going to shoot this bad boy on a upcoming weekend! I wonder if 100 rounds will be enough?

Pretty cool Ken, I handled one of those awhile back and was amazed at how light it was, no doubt to the plastic. I would think it would be a kicker, however with the bore being in line with the stock it might not be as bad as one thinks. Looking forward to your report.

I seen one last year but didn't get to get a good look. This one I got to tear all apart. I don't know how accurate it would be with even a quality rifled slug barrel. I've seen too many of the 870 and 1100s with the saddle scope mounts or tapped recievers that made them beyond minute of deer @ 100yds. Does look a bit more "American" then a Saiga-12. Wonder how long before someone makes a drum magazine for it.

Does it accept screw in chokes? Sometimes I'm involved in "herd reduction"/"herd management" efforts and that really looks like a useful tool. 10
Now how long before we see Nugent hanging out of a chopper spraying piggies with one of them?
The fun never stops!

It does come with 2 extra choke tubes in a nifty pouch. They looked pretty close to the same as my Remys. If you want to blast those poor bambies in your local park and would be less then 100yds and could use a 10rd mag,, you could lay waste on them! There is a company www.firebirdprecision.com/ tricking them out to the max. Also Marc Krebs has turned from the dark side (AKs) and is working on them.
