After reading the Tioga Ranch post, I decided to look closer at Preserve hunting and pricing. I know many are into fair chase only, but there are a few animals I would like to add to my collection and it's far too costly for me to hunt them in a fair chase environ. My idea was to get a group of us together and hunt somewhere with our ML's. We could exchange ideas, show each other our rigs, compare how bullets reacted on certain animals and put faces with posters.
The best prices I could find in PA and surrounding states was HighRidge Preserve, I wrote them expressing my idea and here's the answer I received.
"I think if you check my pricing you will find I'm already below everybody else. But yes, we do offer a $25 discount off ea. animal for a group of 5 or more. Also if one person takes two animals he would receive an additional $50 off his second. Doesn't matter whether its weekend or thru the week."
We could plan a weekend, or a few days during the week. The lodging, skinning and caping is extremely reasonable. The place is located near Somerset and Johnstown, just outside of Hooversville. I thought it might be a good Central location.
If you interested e-mail me. Have a great day! Dave If we get a group together, I might be able to persuade a friend to film as much as the hunt as possible.

One other consideration would be a group shoot. Some where, a group could get together for a group meet and just plain shooting. Be pretty cheap as compared to a preserve shoot. Cost being travel, accomadations, Etc. In my State of Delaware there is an large area that is public hunting land. The cost there would be $130 non resident license, again travel expense and accomindations. I have hunted there the tract being very large and hunting pressure is not a problem. There are many avenues to consider. The only thing to make any such venture work you need partisapation. Lou

Well we can try a number of options: This is the website of the preserve offering discounts for groups. www.highridgehunting.com/photo.htmlWe could choose a month and date if there is interest. Let's call this option #1 Ourway hopefully will add #2 and perhaps others more? I sure would like to meet many of the board members. It can be done but only if we gather interest. I can assure this is not a profit making venture for me! Have a great day! Dave
