Happy Easter to all. Took the newly acquired Bighorn (.50) to the hayfield to shoot a little. Had to keep my yardage to 85 yards due to lack of shade. I used 100 grains of Triple 7 FFg and Triple seven primers in the full plasctic jacket. This rig shot very good compared to my shooting yesterday using No 11 caps with triple seven fffg. Far too much vertical stringing....with yesterdays components. Results: The three shots after the fowler grouped with it. Unusual. Here's my 3 month old Golden retriever pup. His name is Ranger. He's helping me clean the Knight after the afternoon shoot:

You should be happy with that set-up. Decided to pass on shooting today, really windy here! And too much to do!
Nice groups! Any clue why the fowler grouped with the others? Have a great day! Dave

Any clue why the fowler grouped with the others? Dave I mis-marked my shot sequence. The fouler is marked #1. I studied the target again and realised that the fouler has fouling, and it shouldn't. I'm reasonably sure that the fouling shot is marked #1. Numbers 2 and 3 are marked correctly I use a windexed patch, and a dry patch between shots, and the bore gets fairly clean after each shot, but I've never had a fouler shoot with the succeeding shots....except for the 45 Pacnor barrel on the Savage. I'm going to try and group all the fouler shots together by using the same target for the next few range trips to see if it will do this consistently. It was fun to get out and shoot this weekend. I've been missing it for several months. How better to jump back in then with a good ol Knight rifle. BTW, I use teflon tape on the breech plug to control fouling and it does a decent job. Thanks for your good comments. kevin

Kevin..Good shooting and thanks for the report and pics.
With my Knight's and T7 it was very rare to have my first shot from a clean bbl in the group. It was usually 3" out... high or low. Then I found by I swabbing the bbl with a alcohol based cleaner and 2/3 dry patches, that 1st shot stayed very close to the group.
With BH209... I'm finding the fouling shot is right in the group.
Keep us informed with your results.

Good looking pup there. It looks to have quite a bit of light golden in it. Here is a pic of my golden at 10 months old. They grow very quickly so keep a good photo journal of it to document those moments that only happen as they grow.
