Hi, new to the forum. Asked this question on the other board but figured I'd cover my bases. I'll be getting my first ML this off-season to use the coming fall. I am leaning towards using open sights at least for the first season and am curious which of the Knights and T/Cs perform particularly well with open sights. Not too concerned with the stock sights since I will likely put on an after market peep.
My two main concerns are (1) blowback and (2) whether the stock lets you get your head low enough to use open sights.
Thanks

I think the Knight Vision is really good with open sights. Sportsman guide has them for $175.00 bucks. Not much blow back at all.

grouse, two questions regarding the Vision
1. Since the stock, rear sight is pretty far up the barrel, how tough would it be to place a peep closer to the breech?
2. Do you know if the Visions for sale at Sportsman's Guide have the newer breech that does not need the plastic discs?
Thanks!

Or maybe even friday evening. The new Vision comes with the NFPJ breech plug. And it also has very little if any blow back.

Open sights are more personal then scopes IMO. I, for one, can not stand fiber optic sights that glow on a rifle. Also could never get cozy behind a peep. I like bare bones medium size rear square notch and small front bead.
I guess whatever open sights you prefer will guide you...as well as what can be substituted if they do not come that way on the gun you prefer.

I believe that Williams or one of the after market outfits makes a peep that goes in the rear set of holes for the scope base, It might even be a knight product. I have always liked the peeps, My .58 Under Hammer has them, I believe I modifies a old redfield for the back and I even have a lyman #17 for the front.
