I have been away from the sight that I have lost sight of all that is new due to Heart problems. Why all the barrels for sale? Have the guys been replacing them with a better shooting one? Pleas inform me so I can catch up thanks Lou

A number of shooters have been getting Pac-Nor replacement barrels in .45 and .40 caliber and they are selling off their Savage barrels.

Correct me if I am wrong, But there use to be a gunsmith on the sight who did modifacation to Breech plugs etc. is he still around? Lou

If the occasional flier does'nt up set you ..then the oem barrel is fine ..If a 2 to 3 inch group with 1 4 or 5 inch hole in your group does'nt upset you.. then Your fine... but if you like accuracy and consistency.. then.. get a pacnor 45 or 40 cal

I got better than that with mine, at least with the decent loads using the 250 and 300gr XTPs. Never quite got MOA results with mine, but usually 2 MOA or better. Can't argue about the occasional flier though, but I think that was more a bullet/sabot thing than the barrel.

ourway77: If you have the Henry Ball Savage I would not alter it in any way. They were good shooters right from the Ball boys. They put alot of their tricks in it to start. It will nail deer very well.
