For those that have purchased the Lee resizers how long does it generally take to get them? I paid for mine on Jan 27, 09 and am anxiously awaiting the same. I know that does not make it arrive any quicker and it certainly makes it seem longer but just curious how long in actuality it took. Lee had said at the time of the order "about" 8 weeks as I recall.

Just ordered a .448 die this morning. Wait time.... 8 months! That's a little extreme I think. Is there any place else where I can get one?

jims,
Take my word for it 'nothing special' unless old and ugly count.
Remember, I started resizing two years ago, it just maybe, that was before, the rush for pac-nor barrels. Good Luck

Whoa, at that rate I am heading backwards on getting mine. jims- Maybe they are going to pro rate yours. If you already waited half of the initial time frame you only have 4 months to go now! ;D That's ONLY double the orginal wait time.

younghunter: I am indeed a lucky guy. ;D That may force me back to trying to shoot with sabots. I have those available and I hate to wait another 4 months or so for the LEE.

I am sure you all have the C-H tool and die web site saved in your Favorites ;D , they are also 4D custom die co. They offer 7/8x14, 1 1/4x12 and 1 1/2x12 sizing dies, there website states 8 to 12 weeks for any custom size, you will have to check with them to see if your needs are a custom size. I know you all know how to do goggle searches but here is their web address: www.ch4d.com/ (open there bullet tab left side of page, that is where you will find bullet sizinf dies) I have sized over 4k of 50bmg projos with one of there dies, 1 1/2x12 and I have loaned it to shooters as far away as Omaha, Ed Schooler sized of 3k with it. It still looks like new! ;D Ken Central NY

Wow. The C-H dies are a bit pricey. I got a Lee standard die off of E-Bay. It was a standard .401 size and works really well for quick downsizing. Delivery was quick for that.
Had a friend with a lathe make final sizing die and it works, but has a much longer finished size diameter passage and is a lot harder to push the bullet through. The Lee will easily size from .410 down to .402 with one pass. The home made one only reduces the bullet from .402 to .400" and is tough even with my arbor press.

Screwbolts: I had looked at them but the Lees were more reasonable in price and at the time as quick or quicker. If it really turns out to be an 8 month wait then I would have been better off with the CH. Even my time is worth more than that wait.

I have several LEEs also, and many H&Gs RCBS, but I do like the C-H quality.
I posted them for those that want a die faster, A little pricey, I find that a little Humorous coming from people that routinely launch pricey bullets. out of custom barrels :-)
LEE has always supplied the most bang for the buck, but when they arn't readily available sometimes we have to look at the company that makes every one special, after the order is placed.

Touche' Screwbolts, you got me on that one. I may just bite the bullet and place the order. I may need more than one anyways, I just wish I knew the size I was getting from Lee then I could order a different one from CH but maybe nobody guarantees closer than a .001 in size. I could talk to my machinist friend but I hate to bother him with it right now. I ordered a .365 from Lee, they said the best they will guarantee is plus or minus .001, so it coud be .364 or .366. The bigger will not help, the smaller might be too small but again I do not know at this time how much springback I will have. I am not gray haired yet but it could drive me there.

For my homemade die I intentionally made it a bit undersized. I wanted .400" finished bullets. Used a "X" letter drill for a .397" hole in the die and then used emery paper on a rod chucked in a drill to polish it out to the final finished diameter.
About 15 minutes of work polishing a bit and then sizing a bullet and measuring the result turned out a die that consistently turns out .400" bullets.
I would suspect that would work for you as well if you order your die about .001" undersized. An oversized die is worthless cause that can't be fixed.
I suspect that the finished size of my die is about .3990" to .3995" but I really don't know because of the spring back of those copper jacketed bullets. However, as long as my finished bullets measure .400" it really doesn't matter to me. Whatever works, works.
