I called in an order to Midway today. While I had them on the phone, I asked when they thought they would have N-110 powder available. The girl told me that VV has discontinued N-110, and will not make it anymore. Since it seems like one of the most useful powders in Savage smokeless, I wonder what will be a suitable replacement. I have no idea if she knew whereof she spoke, or not. Has anyone else heard about this? Boarhog

The Midway girl said they were told that VV was not going to make it any longer. I don't know if she is in a position to know for certain. Why I wondered if anyone else on this board had heard it from other sources?

I am not certain but I thought they were just going to discontinue the 2 pound jugs but sell it in 1 pound containers. That is not the gospel however.

My guy tells me N120 will be the hard one to find, and only sells N120 in 8 pound lots. He had all the N110 you wanted in 1 pound lots. That ought to tell you something. N110 is IMO the best 44mag/.357 mag powder around, and people reload a lot of those. If the clerk I am speaking to is a lady ,I tend to be skeptical about any info they might give me about something they really are not that interested in knowing anything about. Kind of like when a gal waits on you at auto zone. I know that sounds terrible ,but thats the lesson life has taught me. mshm

i CERTAINLY HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT! Another example is the clerk at McDonalds that can't make change, or ring up something if there isn't a picture of it on the register!

I have no problem finding N110 or N120 but it sure has skyrocketed in price. $34.99 per pound.

I stopped by a local gun shop this morning. The owner is gathering several customers so he can place a sizable order and perhaps save everyone some cash. While I was there, he called his supplier ( I have no idea who that is) and was told they no longer distribute VV powders, and are out of almost every other brand number that they sell the most. They also said they have everything but VV on order, and to keep checking in with them. No idea when they will get re-supplied.
Today, I plan to call a couple of shops in Little Rock. I will report what I learn.

Vihtavuori is distrubued through 2 different companies. Hodgdon is the new one and they are not carring all of the VV powders, only what they think are the most popular. The second company is Kaltron. They are the original and carry the entire line. Soooo, if a company gets their VV from Hodgdon, they may not be able to get N110. Hodgdon does not carry N120. If a company gets their V through Kaltron, then they can get the entire line as long as it is in the country.

I just ordered 2# of N110 from my local gun shop. It was in within 5 days. I just happened to catch them on a day when they were calling in an order. Not sure who their supplier is. Zen

Following up. Today, I called every shop within 50 miles, and most are out of powder and 209 primers. The guys I talked to said they were barely getting a trickle of supply, and most times people are in line waiting for the truck to be unloaded.
I did a few www searches and found the Graf and Sons page. They showed to have n-110 and RL-7 in stock. They also had CCI-209M primers, IMR-4759, and H-4198. So I decided to go ahead and pay the hazmat and shipping costs, and ordered 3 lbs ea. of 110 and RL-7. Next month, when every shop is bursting at the seams with things we need, but for now I have some peace of mind. It hurts a bit to pay close to $35.00 per lb. including shipping.
I asked the lady that took my order if she knew anything about VV discontinuing N-110, and she said no, and that they still have it listed on the VV web page.

I just received 2# of N110 from midsouth today. I was able to split the hazmat fee 3 ways with others who needed powder they couldn't find locally.
1# at the only local place, 50 miles away, that usually stocks it was going to be $31, but they can't get it in for whatever reason. With the hazmat fee I ended up paying $33 per pound shipped. Not bad.

I thought I had a place to get 8lbs. of H4198 & H322, naturally their website inventory was not up to date. The guy told me on the phone if you can find one or the other at different places to bite the bullet and order from two places. He said he doesn't look for this shortage of powders to be straightened out for at least nine months the way things are going.

DaveW, I placed an order with midway yesterday, April 7th, and they were out of N-110. You might check the Graf and Sons web page. They had several powders we use, but not all. 1 or 2 of them they had in 4 or 8 lb jugs. They did NOT have H-322 or 5744. Good luck.

Checked there along with Midway, Midsouth, Natchez, Brunos, Powder Val., Sinclair, L-S&B, nobody has both in stock.
