I have some powder that is over 40 years old that I shot recently. It shot, I did not chronograph it as I did not have one years ago to compare but it did go boom. If kept in the right heat and other conditions and it smells OK it is my opinion for whatever that is worth that powders might last nearly indefinitely. I might not use my powder in a cartridge that I would be hunting dangerous game with but for everyday use I am not concerned. Maybe I would not use it for going after a big buck either but for paper or pests etc. I would have no concerns. As regards your date on your powder I believe you are good to go for anything you want to shoot, that is "new" powder in my book.
