If I draw the tag I have a Kansas hunt for the early muzzle loading season.I have been reading about temperature changing the zero on savage muzzleloaders. It will probably be warm. Will I have a problem?

[I highly doubt it, I've hunted the early season twice in Kansas with no problems. Actualy it will be almost the same weather you will practice in all summer. good luck! Jeff~

Jeff,
What is that black stuff on your stock? It looks like some sort of tape. Cheek rest?
Nice Velvet Buck!

rmclaughlin, What powder are you using? Book powder you should not have a problem. Just shoot your gun a couple of days before the season to confirm your zero.
jeff, Nice deer. Do you ever shoot anything small? ;D Steve

rmclaughlin, Hunted early season last year with 5744 & 285 gr. Barnes. Shot a wt doe about 9:00 am. Watched her run 40 yds. and drop. Waited 10/15 minutes for bbl to cool, reloaded and walked to her. Fly`s were all over her where the blood was coming out. Got her gutted and loaded in truck and went to friend`s house. We hung her and boned out everything then layered the meat in coolers with ice by noon. Went back in December season and shot a 7x7 muley in a snowstorm with the same load. Temps did not seem to affect anything. Just take plenty of coolers for meat. And btw take snake boots or snake gaiters, killed two rattlesnakes while there in Sept. Will not hunt Sept. season again. To hot and to many snakes. Take your shotgun if you like to shoot doves. They were everywhere but I wouldn`t use a dog because of the snakes.
