8-)A long time ago I was experimenting. When you experiment you have some failures. This picture shows one of my failures. It's a Pac-Nor 45 caliber barrel. If you think those proved to work then it's time you learned all the methods I've tried. This is a 45 caliber pistol barrel. It is 25" long with 1 in 22 twist. There are 6 lands and groves. The lands are .447" and the grooves are .451". The taper cut is a little rough but close. I have two 5/8 X 18 custom breech plugs for it as well. When I began shooting I immediately found sabots are too tight to shoot well. So I set it aside and began trying .458 barrels. Sabots shot a lot better. Lately I saw it in the corner and though why not try sabot-less? The failure turned into a success. The only trick is getting the bullet sized correctly. My question is can you make it shoot? The reason for that is I don't have a frame to put it on and I couldn't sell something less than perfect to a customer. I'm not giving it away free, but I only want what I have in it (even a little less). If the moderators think this belongs on the trading section I sure don't mind if it's moved. The only reason I post here at all is I want to know if there is a long standing member who can handle sizing bullets to fit the barrel and because of economy wouldn't ever get to shoot 45 otherwise. I'd like it to find a good home after all it is the first Pac-Nor 45 barrel to be transplanted to a 10ML.

Makes me wish I had an action to put it on; seems like an opportunity for some .50 shooter who is teetering...........

rbinar, I assume this barrel fits the standard MLII-if so I am interested. What is your selling price? Please e-mail me with the info.

RbinAr, Is that for a ml1 or a ml2? My ml2 is already rebarreled 45. The ml1 is still a 50 and a prime subject for the 45cal. Jon

Jon jon, I recently helped build a ML10 out of a 223 110 action, we used a barrel I got from a Member here and Neil got the BP Modules and a package of the proper Vents direct from Savage. IMHO there is no difference in the specs of the Barrels ML10 or ML10II. The barrel shown is fitted with a custom BP so you may need a primer holding Bolt. Or a different one of RBs other custom BPs to fit your bolt face, or a new bolt face. Ken

Ken, I understood the ml1 has a slightly larger thread then the ml2. The one I have seems to have a step in it. They also offer two differant sized recoil lugs. Correct me if I'm wrong. The callipers in my range box I find has a dead battery. I'll have to go to the shop to get another set or wait till I get a new battery. Thank you for any input I'm new to the ml1. Jon

Richard, I havn't seen anything recently on your lost barrel. So I hope you get this one sounds like it should be great for sabotless. After all you went through you sure deserve it. Jon

Jon Jon, if that's the case that the ML10 was a large thread receiver than I am indeed wrong. Sorry, but my info on the 110 is what we did. This photo doesn't show a step: www.sav10ml.com/pages/main.htm I thought the Large thread was just for the Short mag/ Ultra Mag, suppository chambered rifles. I handled a like new ML10 at the Utica NY Gun show on Sat. and I didn't notice any step, but that isn't to say that one isn't/wasn't there. Ken

8-)The barrel is a small diameter Savage or I could say it fits a 10ML-II not the older 10ML with bolt lugs.
