Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is David and I have been shooting muzzleloaders for about 10 years now . I have a couple ROA's that I enjoy also. Right now I have a pedersollis Howdah and 12 ga double, my first Hawkins kit from when I was 16. A stainless fluted cva and now a ml10-II. I've had several different ones over the years but these I've kept. Now for the ml10. I tried a few rounds with 777 pellets and 295 powerbelts. Cleaned it well then tried the t/c 300 with the supplied black sabots and AA5744 using a lee 3.4. But it hits way high at 100 with open sights.with the 777 about 6" with the aa5744 it's about 14" the sight is set as low as it will go without coming off. I haven't decided on which optic to use yet. Suggestions with explanations as to why would be nice. As for what I plan to use it for....well I hunt Texas white tails, mule deer, hogs, and coyotes typically. And they range out to about 300 yards. That is why I bought the ml10 (to reach consistently) to have the power needed for a clean kill.
That's about it for now I suppose. Sorry for it being so long

Welcome to the best place to learn the depths of smokeless muzzleloading. What part of Texas are you calling home?

Welcome David! Could be the 5744 has produced more velocity than any of your black powder/subs loads? You will get the hang of it. Read all you can in the Hints and Tips section. Any questions that don't get answered on the general forum, send me a PM and I will try to help! BTW, its nice to get an introduction using a real first name Richard
