Took a friend hunting this Sunday after a couple hours at the range with a few Savages. Two were not sighted in and one was just missing being shot. After view the groups produced by them he was fairly impressed. I offered to let him use one on the evenings hunt and he accepted. The evening wasn't as active as the day before when we saw 15 deer. We did see enough to end up taking 3 slick heads between us. We did not see any big bucks. I was using BOs and he 250 XTPs. All were clean pass though and two were shoulder shots that dropped them where they stood. None were at any remarkable distance as we were hunting on a small property.
After the hunt I said now we need to do some maintenance. I wiped it down and put it in the case. All done. Now he wants me to find him a Savage. That's what I call success.
