hey there, haven't been on for a little while. Had posted some threads a little bit ago on finding the best combination for my savage, i know it's all about spending time shooting and matching what works best out of your own gun. Just want to thank everyone for all of their insight and different things to try. Have dumped quite a few rounds through the gun in the last couple or three weeks and think i finally have it. Shooting about a 3" side to side by 1" up and down group at 150 yds, i am very happy with it. The combination that i found works the best out of my 50cal. savage is 42 grains powder (IMR 4759), Hornady 45-250 sst/ml, remington clean bore primers. maby this will give some insight to some new shooters, although i do believe that everygun will shoot a little different until u find that perfect match, at least, maby somewhere to start. Going to shoot tommorow again, backing up to the 200 and 275 yd range, will try to post some pics.
thanks again

well shot at the range , a little windy, but all in all not bad. shot at 200 yds, and after being zeroed at 150 yds was consitently 6 inches of drop. good grouping ... honestly i wasn't thinking that it would drop that much.. want to and am going to try 250 but i think the drop will be significant. won't know until u try. all and all a fun day.....
