I was finally to acquire a ml1, but I'm not able to get any info on it. I have a weaver 30 mm scope with a 50mm bell to mount on it. I'm thinking about a 1 piece base and I don't know what rings yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Jon

I need extension rings on mine to get the scope back far enough. Some don't use them and crawl the stock more than I do. I use Leupold mounts and rings. Remember the Ml-1 has a flat rear spot on the action.

thank you for the info. The ml1 will be a learning curve from my ml2. I have seen post on them on the old board, but not able to do a search for it. It keeps throwing out the ml1 as not enough letters. Jon

Does savage still have the vent liners and modguals(spelling) ? JON Yes, Savage has the MLI modules and breech plugs still available, 2 weeks ago my Neighbor converted a 110 in 222rem to a MLI . He ordered and got from Savage , 1 breech plug, 3 modules, a bag of three replacement vent liners all shipped to him for $66.00 . We Used a MLII barrel that I purchased from a forum member here to make the MLI. it had screw holes for sights and such so to head space it I simply made some very light cuts to adjust the Breech plug depth, and keep the sight holes aligned. It has been shot over 100 times to date using just one module. This module shows no signs of loosening and takes Fiocci primers well. ;D The load this rifle likes is 34 gr of 5744 w/ my 333 gr. hard cast in MMP SBS. Even with the horribly rough barrel it will shot clover leafs at 80 yards. Ken

In the past if you had a ML-1 you had to send your rifle to Savage for a breechplug fitting. edge.

Guys just a question, In the 09 midsouth Shooters catalog they advertise a savage ml for sale that uses percussion modules. Is this something new or a mistake? It's on page 55. Jon
