I want to say hi. I'm from New York State and have been shooting muzzle loaders going back to the mid 70's. I shoot flintlocks 99% of the time and have built and sold a few through the years. They have all been long rifles. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you here.
PS: I must add that I haven't been active in shooting in the last 12 or so years and I am now getting back at it.

Welcome! Where are you from? I am in Wyoming county...western NYS. NYS doesn't require flintlocks so I assume you use them cause you like the idea of it.

I live in Cayuga Co. just outside of Moravia. Yes I have always just loved shooting a flintlock and almost every deer I shot was with a flintlock. I do have a percussion longrifle and it is at least 15 years old and hasn't had 50 rounds put through it.

muznut, I have no experience with the inline or smokeless muzzle loaders. I also don't want to learn. I.m happy with what I use, but have nothing against anyone that likes the new. It's all good.
