well its all together, ready for a testdrive, built like a hummer, just hope it works as well
ss 10 ml ll ( once upon a time) beadblasted richards tacdriver stock/ with bedded ramrod tube & detent pacnor 45- 28" fluted... bead blasted- super match sss trigger , machined recoil lug, tactical bolt handle petes ss plug, tc solid ramrod/spinjag farrel one piece base bedded / burris tactical rings- lapped the old valdada til I can rob a bank for a nightforce pillared, bedded with accraglass & atomized stainless to front of barrel nut , floated from front of bolt rearward
well thats about it, if my wife knew how much Ive spent on this 12 lb 5 oz boat anchor she would shoot me with it ! I have done everything I know possible on this thing to make it a shooter, If it wont shoot to satisfaction I guess I can make a mantle piece with it . or maybe ship it and all the powder & bullets to Richard and let him experiment with it.
anyway if the rain ever stops & the turkeys wont gobble Ill post some groups this weekend with saboted 200 ssts & 195 barnes......Bill

It sounds like a nice rifle but where's the pictures? I'm sure it will shoot good like all the other Pacnor barrels. Enjoy the testdrive. Steve

Good luck, Bill. The description is mouth-watering. When you order your Nightforce, be sure also to order a little red wagon to haul the entire outfit around.
Do you mean "floated from front of bolt 'forward' "?

Not posting pictures is like someone cooking a steak in front of me and then not letting me eat it! Also if you decide to throw that "old valdada" out, let me know. I will be over to look through your trash. ;D Hope she's a shooter!

Harley, I floated from the front of the bolt handle rearward, I will post some pictures when I have some groups to post, and they will all be posted , good , bad and ugly/ hope more good than bad. I just came in from the turkey woods, bad wind and rain so I will not get to light it off today, maybe after church tomorrow....Bill

well I thought I was ready to fire, loaded hefty up with 60 grns 4198/ 200 grn sst with blue harvester, settled in and click, it wouldnt fire. I couldnt figure out what the heck was wrong so back home and back in pieces and finally found the problem after respacing the barrel, taking the bolt apart six times and adjusting everything. the sear on the new trigger was hitting the trigger guard, so two minutes with mr dremel and three hours later it goes bang, problem is its dark now another day.....Bill

ok guys, it finally goes bang I promised pictures so here goes[img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/ramrodtube003-1.jpg" img] [img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/ramrodtube005.jpg" img] I shot 8 shots[email email] this was shot #1 after boresighting (looking thru bore) @ 50 yds,I moved 5 clicks and moved to 100 this is 2-8@ 100[img src="http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn218/billsheliatravis/ramrodtube009.jpg" img] shot #2, I dont think the scope had settled in good, #3-8 tell the story. all shots were with a 5 min wait, barrel was never really warm/ 60 grn 4198- blue harvester & 200 sst over a lubed wool wad. it was raining off and on so I didnt crono. didnt have my calipers but it measured less than 7/8" c to c on shots 3-8. I think I might be smiling ;D

8-)It looks great I like the tactical bolt handle as a final touch.
Some have told me how duplex loads were linked to my name. However I'd much prefer that opening smaller caliber rifles to the general public as a better choice.
The reason is simple: because you can do this!

Hillbill.........Just now saw the pictures! Great looking rifle. Those look like the Burris tactical rings I put on mine. Sturdy setup! I also noticed the Bald Eagle Slingshot rest! Benchrest quality I used to shoot on a regular basis with the guy, Bill Gebhardt, who owned that company. Yes, you should be smiling with results like that. Richard

Glad you gents like (hefty), Im growing a little more fond every time I pull on that sss trigger which I like very much. my shooting buddy recieved his swinglock from tom post today, he fired it a few times but I wasn't there to witness or to see it but we are planning a session this weekend, that could prove interesting.
tom test fired his gun with 82 grns h-4198 behind a 275 parker be @ avg 3020 fps, that has to hurt on both ends, I hate to think about it . anyway I will have pictures etc this weekend...Bill

Did you have to make any modifications on the tactical bolt handle to get it to work? I love the way it looks on there. These things are an addiction with no know cure.

dc, the tactical bolt handle has to have an angle filed or ground on it to fit the ml II, it must fit the contour of the bottom of the bolt notch in the reciever but its a pretty easy mod....Bill
