What I mean is, I'm having difficulty finding a used tupperware stock for the MLII in Canada (people don't seem to mod theirs as much up here, it might appear) but I have found a few synthetics for sale for either a short action 10 or 12 (once I think..I thought I read that a 12 would also fit the 10MLII -can't quite seem to find the thread anymore when I do a search, though).
The prices seemed a little out of line, though, so I got to wondering if the tupperware stock on other Savage models are the same "tupperware-ish" quality as the MLII, or are they of a better quality?
I'm looking for another tupperward stock to try my hand at bedding the MLII for a summer project. Seeing as I've never done this before, I didn't want to mess up my one and only stock I have.
Thanks a lot, Paul.

Be more likely that the model 10 stock would fit than the 12. Best bet would be to buy a removed stock from someone upgrading their 10ML-II. Perhaps someone here will respond to your post with an offer you can not refuse. If not, post a request in the "Buy, Sell & Trade" section on this board.
The Savage ML10 stocks are pretty much like the ML10-II. The Stevens stocks for their short action rifles (308, 243, 7mm-08) are very similar. They are a lighter gray in color and with a bit thinner fore ends but will likely work as well. They are basically the same as the Savage stocks from a few years ago. A call to Savage customer service should verify which ones will actually fit.

Thanks Chuck.
I almost did get one from the 'buy and sell' board, but the shipping costs and potential border hassles (I think even stocks have to be registered in Canada if coming up, but not sure on that) made it a little less palatable.
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of people upgrading their 10ML stocks up here.
I'll just wait and be patient.
Thanks a lot, Paul.

Only thing that has to be registered is the receiver and the parts with a S/N. A piece of plastic is not a firearm.

The thing to watch when shipping into Canada is the customs declaration form. If you list the contents as "firearms parts" customs will jump all over it. Some firearms parts require a export license from the US government and a import license from the Canadian government. The better description would be "plastic molding or parts ", keep the words firearm, rifle or gun out of the description.
Another thing would be import duties, IIRC as long as value is less then $60 then I think there is no duties as long as it is between private individuals. Do not list the value at $35 and turn around and insure it for $200.
You want a Short Action (SA) stock with a barrel channel for a heavy barrel. The model 10 for the 10FP or model 12 for the 12FV (V for varmint profile barrel) would work as long as it prior to 2006 so it has the 4.275" screw spacing.
