Gentlemen,
After I posted about buying a custom smokeless, most of the replies from the board were build your own, so here goes.
I ordered an Encore SS Frame, stock, forearm. I just talked to Ron at SMI (Great guy) about their Encore .45 barrel (sounds great). Before I pull the pin, am I on the right track or am I missing something?
Also, if I want to go sabotless, is the only other thing that I need is a full-size die? (Swing-lock die?) - Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks all

Yes, you are on the right track. Those who have gone the SMI route seem to really like them. The Encore system is shorter and lighter weight than the bolt actions. As for bullet sizing, see this: www.swinglock.net/adjustablebsd.phpYou would need barrel drop for the full form die.

LOL!! Lets see??? Just a list: bullets, sabots, 209 primers, powder, vials for powder and bullets, scale for weighing powder, range rod, folding rod, targets, range with backstops, various cleaning supplies, chrony, cooling rod and cooler for same, sling, Limbsaver recoil pad for Encore, locking type hinge pin, size "C" bit, dedicated socket and ratchet for breech plug, anti-seize or teflon tape for breech plug and vent liner, extra ventliners and something to check erosion size of the ones you are using, tool box to carry stuff to range, base+ rings+ scope, log book to track your shooting and what happens, camera to take pix to show us all the great targets you'll be shooting. I'm sure I've forgotten some stuff so this is just the short list. OH yeah, a secret cache to start saving for another build. Best, 10 ga

LOL - Thanks 10ga, Funny thing is I have all of that. I have been shooting smokeless for over 10 years but have never owned a .45 or shot sabotless. After reading all of the posts from the guys on here and their success, I couldn't stand it any more. I'm really pumped to try though. Thank you -
