Haven't had a problem with gloves or finger/ knuckle smash. Carried it through thick stuff, but if I'm walking through thick places it is usually not on my shoulder anyway. Carried it lefty to rest the right shoulder, doesn't poke me in the ribs. I actually had it put on to add clearance for the European style ocular on the scope used. Never had a problem with it, but can see your concerns. I'm with you that the rifle is not on my shoulder in the thick stuff. It still can catch when having to back up and twist every which way in the thorny jungles. clearance for the scope is understood! I actually like them on competition rifles, but have sworn off of them for my hunting rigs. I'm getting older and need my hunting guns lighter and more comfortable afield

Customer supplied bolt knob. He likes it just fine. I came here to learn and to share knowledge. Certainly not finding fault with the rifles, merely pointing out that there can be some downside to tactical bolt knobs on hunting rifles. They most certainly look great and satisfy the owner's needs. I was merely stating my dissatisfaction with tactical bolt knobs on hunting rifles in order for others to make up their own mind regarding their usefulness before shelling out the $$. No problem here

They shoot extremely well.
No offense taken here either, everybody likes different things.

Hey Rat. What is your BH209 load and which breech plug are you using?

120 BH209 by volume, HLB sabot, 195 Barnes knurled to heck and back ( the factory .45 barrels are on the loose side), the smoker plug came with the hunter bolt-nose kit.
