My name is Nathaniel G. Lambeth, Sr. I am a Gunsmith/Machinist who has built many bolt action rifles over the last 40 years. I am getting ready to build myself a modern smokeless muzzleloader. I am doing my research now. I thought the ideas from this board might give me a better insite to my goals.

I'm glad you finally found your way here. I've read your stuff on several other forums. I'm sure even you could learn a thing or two here and hopefully you will share some of your knowledge and experience.

As they say curiosity killed the cat. I also heard satisfaction brought him back.
I am contemplating on how I am going to use a cartridge case carry my LRM primers.
I think I am going to make a breech plug with a chamber for the back .600 of a .308Winchester case. Inside will be a vented column for the primer to ignight the powder.
I will use a shell holder, my lathe and a endmill to uniform the headspace thickness of the carrier. The blowback will seal the case and the vents will keep the blowback from burning up the cases and contact surface of the internal column. I will thread the internal column so it can be easily replaced.
Your thoughts. Nat

Nat watching with interest your ideas on the breach plug. Welcome aboard. I'm experimenting with using a shell holder and end mill on my mill to do the same thing.
