Onecardchuck,
I'm looking, in the mean time, I think you should get ready, shooting those 500 gr. loads, by the way, if you bench them, you will be my hero.

If you don't want to bench them, here's what we do. drive two pole's about two feet apart, use 1/2 nylon rope, between them, make sure its a your height, you now can shoot any rifle, without getting beat up....it worked with a 470 and a Lott. both boomers.

Once again RB is dead on with his load/speed estimate. Got a few minutes yesterday evening to try 75gr of H-322 behind the 400gr BO's. Shots 1-6 read 2256,2263,2250,2263,2267,2252 fps

Only had an hour yesterday evening to shoot so I just shot them at 100 yards. The group wasn't anything to brag about but could only wait about 5 minutes between shots and the wind was very gusty from left to right. Got roughly a 3 1/2" group with a horizontal spread going to the right, I'm pretty confident on a calmer day with more shooting time and a little tweaking this load could be very accurate. Next trip I'll try them at 200 and see how they measure up to my 300gr BO groups ? I used my lead sled and a 25lb bag and will continue to use it while testing this load : )

The heat has to go somewhere so the sabot can be subject to additional barrel heat. If you want best groups barrel cooling will be necessary for bench shooting.
