I was wondering when someone would build one on that gun and show us pictures. Looks great and appears to shoot great. What does it weigh? Good Luck Hunting.

kiddynomite, fantastic start, perfection right out of the box Being and H&R I'm curious, what kind of rest are you using at the bench? Do you use a hard hold with both hands on the rifle or are you shooting free recoil with only the trigger hand on the gun? Thanks

As for the cost $145.00 SMI, Yes they relived the busniess end of the barrel for the sabots, and I shoot both hands on gun while it is in the rest shown in the pictures. I'm still aiting on Boone and Crocket Buck but may have to settle for smaller one soon our season only last 9 days total for the year. Kid...

Does that $145 include their breech plug and the QLA? Did you go with their vent liner or the carbide bushing? Great looking ML and great shooting. Did you knurl the Barnes?

When I called them about doing my brothers, they said $125 for the conversion with bp (standard) plus $15 for return shipping. Ramrod was $30 on top of that.

What is the recoil like in this gun with a fairly stout load.

What is the recoil like in this gun with a fairly stout load. I can't answer for this particular gun, but I have an Encore 45/70 conversion that will knock the snot out of you with 58 grains of H4198. I find a two hand hard hold a must with it. Mine is so light with the 45/70 converted barrel that it jumps all over the place without a two handed hold. I would be happier with a heavier Pacnor barrel, but this way is considerably cheaper.

Weight is? I am going to guess 9lbs. Any other guesses?
Beautiful gun and a great group, factory wood has come a long way also!

I would be surprised if it weighs that much. My Encore 45/70 conversion is 7lbs 6ozs, including scope, sling, Sims pad, loaded and ready to shoot!

What state are you hunting in? Everytime I see someone saying they are going hunting I look to the profile by their screen name to see where they are from. You don't live anywhere
