Got a hog this morning with the ML2, Shortie 45 pacnor, 200sst and 54 grains H4198 did the trick again, Still hunting up high and jumped 6 of them at about 40 yards, made the shot at 75 yards or so on a smaller looking one, one in the group was a real monster, took time to pick a smaller one,,,200 SST exited after entering in front of the last rib on the left and exiting just in front of the right shoulder Vitals were all scrambled, Hog is in the fridge, messed cleaned up Right now I am dog tired cid-86f11e537cb9c8bf.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Hog?nl=1&uc=1&isFromRichUpload=1

Now thats bringing home a lot fresh bacon.
Congrats on a successful hunt.
I can also understand why you don't want to drag a big one home. Then you would be really Hog Tired.

pposey, Good lookin eatin hog! I shot one a few years ago that weighed 260 lbs on certified scales! He was so tough, you'd have to grind him twice to eat him!! Stunk BAAAAADDD also! I vowed to never shoot one that large again!

Congradulations on the hog.I asume you got it in your neck of the woods.. Got drawed for the PD agin (muzzleloader) next week, they have on their pamplet that you can shoot hogs during the gun hunts. Our club is devided from the refuge by Brown creek and the pd river but we have seen no signs of hogs on our land. Maybe I can see one and try out the savage. Did you put in for the drawning this year?

Boarhog,,, yep the larger one I shot was just tough,
Herman Yep shot porkie a couple miles from the house,,,,No I didn't re apply, I was really disapointed in the hunting there,,, I think getting the first ML hunt is key,,,, I hunted hard all days and did not see a single flippin deer there,,,, wonderful woods, lotsa deer food, just no deer? I also have a real hard time getting time off from work and away from home for more than a day.

I used to live in WNC...south of Asheville in a little community called Mills River then later on I moved north of Asheville to a little town called Weaverville. Had a couple of small wild hogs in my backyard once when I lived in Mills River. Never hunted them though. Looks like good eating! Regards, Scott

I'm about an hour.5 west of there,,, Hope it is good eating,,,,, cutting up for canning tonight.. I was actually deer hunting and watching a doe when the hogs showed up,,,
The 200 SST penitrated well and caused alot of mush within the chest. I am not pushing it fast though, only 2300-2400, cant remember exactly
