Here's the 150" rough scored buck that my brother took with 700ML McGowen combo shooting 195gr BX over 63gr R7.
So you guys don't think I'm a saint, he was actually supposed to drive this little section of wooded creek to me. We had only chewed off a little chunk of it to drive, and I happened to walk in where the deer were. I never saw the buck (just some does), but this guy kicked out the side. My brother was going back to where we had the vehicles parked to shed a few layers before he started the mini push to me.
Anyway, he saw this guy coming. All in one motion he mouth bleated him to a stop, threw his backpack on the ground and mouth bleated him to a stop. Initially, his hat obstructed his view, so he had to adjust that. Then through a foggy scope in a light rain, he nailed a perfect shot in the pocket at about 175 yards (RF verified). (His words were, "I knew it was under 200 yards, so I just put it in the middle.) Perfect double lung shot. Deer ran about 75 yards, stopped for 10 seconds and fell over.
As others have said, I would get my chance. Well, they were right. Unfortunately, when that time came, my gun was in the truck and all I had to shoot with was my cell phone--hence the poor image quality, you may have to zoom in to see it. Here's the pic. Honestly, I don't even want to talk about it. Body like a cow with a rack that dwarfed my brother's buck.
On a side note, see how he's standing. That's the only shot I would of had before he bolted. IMO, an excellent example of why I'll take the BX over the SST any day.
