I don't have a deer lift for my ATV, but have a system to load a large deer that I can't handle alone. I have a gambrel zip tied flat on my rear rack that is out of the way until I need it. In my ATV tool box, I keep the inexpensive hoist that comes with the gambrel. It easily fits in the small tool box. I also have a ratchet strap in there (actually a few).
I simply get the deer to a sturdy tree, stand on my rack and attach the ratchet strap around the tree. it is not necessary to get it up real high to reach a branch. I then hook up the hoist to the strap, and lower the hoist.
Jump off the ATV, attach the gambrel to the hocks and get it up off the ground. No need to get it really high, because as long as you get the deer's rear end raised, you can back your ATV up, and swing the deer on the rack. Getting the hind end up is all you need.
Remove the ratchet/hoist and be on your way. Takes about 10 minutes, does not get in the way, is very inexpensive and keeps you from breaking your back.

I went ahead and purchased a kolpin TILT N TOTE and it is well made but I havent used it yet. I thing I will make a bracket so it is removable, sort of like a trolling motor bracket and put one on the front and rear rack of my atv so it can be used on either end of atv. I will post results after using it. The best price I found was at website (Discount ramps) and had the item in 4 days.

I wish they let you cut up deer in Maine Ive shot doe's that dressed out over 180lbs and the terrain where I live is rough. They let you cut up Bear and Moose but not deer.
