Anybody ever re-barrel a MKIII? I have a standard and would like a 6 7/8 Competition factory barrel on it. 161

It is possible but the cost is pretty high. Everybody wants to sell you a new upper for the MK III (FFL item since it carries the SN). Your better off buying a used pistol with a bull barrel. Putting a $300 upper on a $370 pistol, I would have to think twice. If I was going to spend that much I would go with a mod 41 or other quality target pistol or go to the max with a Clark Custom.
You can look at Pac-lite, Volquartsen, and maybe even talk to the people and Clark Custom Guns.

Here's the Clark Custom Model 41 that got Rossman's juices flowing: Rossman, I just clicked on this forum link for the first time in many months; quite a coincidence that you were referencing the Model 41 that you and I had discussed that long ago. Harley

I ordered a new MKIII Competition 6 7/8 barrel. Should be here anytime. I just need to get some different grips since I'm a lefty and they have the right-handed thumb do-hickey
