Just wonder what other shooters felt was the most beneficial/important Mod/s they made on their 10ML-II.
For me it was the full bedding of the receiver and partial for the recoil lug and installing third pillar at the same time on my synthetic stock.
Other modifications such as the re-crowning of the muzzle, barrel lapping, installing recoil reducer and switching to a solid aluminum ramrod each one helped to a small degree for trying to gain best possible accuracy. Of course I haven’t touched on accessories yet. ;D

My tupperware gun is mainly stock. My biggest modification that made it shoot better was opening up the barrel channel of the forearm to give the barrel more floating room. Steve

For me so far it was as simple as installing a decent recoil pad. I don't have the bedding and 3rd pillar yet, but its coming.

Another vote for glass bedding and third pilar as the most important.
I have also put a new crown on the barrel, switched to a solid aluminum ram rod, and switched to Pete's SS breach plug with no ventliner.

I don't think there IS a "most important" modification; there are just so many interacting variables affecting the performance of these rifles. Some modification/adjustments are more notable than others, but they all ultimately contribute "something" and they all have to be addressed if you want to wring the most out of the Savage.

I agree with Harlie. The ankle bone is connected to the shin bone and the shin bone is connected to the kneebone and the..................................................................................................thing may never shoot really good. Ozark

I hope my new Pac-Nor .45 barrel turns out to be the most "Beneficial Mod" for me as everything else has failed so far.

I would have to say bedding and 3rd piller and the drill bushing BP as this keeps thing the same for a longer (more shots) time.

For me, Definitely ugly in a purely functional way. It is, in fact, duct tape holding some packing foam on the comb of my stock. It is not a permanent fix, but it sure made 300 grain bullets at 2450 fps much less painful. That Savage stock comes up under my cheekbone in such a wonderful way. For my rifle, The bedding and pillars was beneficial.
