Brother is thinking about getting a 7.92 x33 kurz barrel for a contender frame. Anyone know of a source or custom shop capable of putting one together? Thanks

Now that is an interesting choice of caliber. Sounds like somebody has a very specific application in mind. I did see Hornady was offering factory ammo in the caliber, a 125gr JHP. I would be interested to know the intended use, hate to think I am missing out on something cool.

Thanks danno. I had looked their briefly but it didn't jump out at me. I'll shoot them an email. Or maybe they were the sight that would only do it on an encore frame. Can't remember.

In addition to minimum caliber for pistol our state also stipulates no bottle neck cartridges unless they are shorter than a certain size, and this one is just under the max.

Not sure if they can help you out or not. I just know that some of them used to be with Virgin Valley Custom Guns before they went bankrupt. VVCG made a couple Encore barrels for me, one a 28" 209x50 and the other that turned out to be a real accuracy gem, a Tactical 20. Both were miles ahead in quality over any TC factory barrel I have seen. Good luck.

I had gotten a good 7.62 x 39...... 15" Contender barrel from Bullberry. I sent them a .308 Hart SS barrel and they welded the pivot on and did the chambering. An unlucky antelope was the recipient of a 125 gr. bullet at 220 yards ;D Richard
