has gotten me thinking. I have been praying for happiness my whole life. If one is happy, then everything is covered. Lately I have come to believe that praying for wisdom might be the best. Any thoughts?

Wisdom leads to understanding, understanding leads to contentment, and that leads to happiness. We either need to be blissfully ignorant or just to have wisdom to come about happiness. One must choose to be blissfully ignorant, and I cannot choose that path. I continuously pray for wisdom and restraint when faced with anger. I only get angry at things I don't have the wisdom to understand. In other words, I completely agree!

Rusty......happiness is a tough thing to pray for since it is a feeling that fluctuates depending on how we view things as any particular moment. I pray for the wisdom to be able acknowledge the reality of things in my life. So many of my friends have died and I am aware that there are millions of people on earth who don't even have clean water to drink. Somehow, in those times when I come to an awareness of the reality of my life, I feel at peace......in which I would trade all happiness for inner peace anytime.

Fear of the Lord and also the love of God is the beginning of wisdom. I have known several who simply did not have the capacity for happiness. We all have witnessed people who are complainers, never satisfied, always coveting, looking for new thrills, drinking. using drugs. and doing a thousand other things hoping to press the pleasure button in the brain. I think unhappiness as well as happiness is a personality trait. I choose to be happy, thankful and appreciative rather than dwell on the things that makes me unhappy. I could write a long article on this subject but there would still be those who have not yet found the capacity to be happy. Some will cry because they have no shoes while they are seeing happy people with no feet.

Ozark, I assume you have a fear of the Lord, and I know you have the love of God. You will never know how appreciated your comments often are. By me if noone else. Sometimes they hit a mark you weren't shooting for , they did this time. thank you.

One with the Lord has infinite wisdom...!!! Deadon Because your soul and mind are as one. Lifes hard but its our soul that gets us through tough times or we would just give up and cave in without it. Knowledge is such a vast infinite term it can come in so many ways, and the value of the "knowledge" is to the beholder. I gain knowledge everyday here and in my daily life. I cut grass mostly and do maintainence for the elderly. I'm losing my house,I lost my mother last year,my father had an annurism a couple years ago. Its been trying ,but I'm hanging and this board and all of you here I respect and have a brotherly feeling forwhatever part of the planet your from. IMO " God put us here to get along "......................... ....
