I have a .375 groove 22 inch barrel with lands at .366. I hope to shoot sabotless with it with 9.3mm bullets (.366 and .365) and saboted with 8mm (.323) bullets. Any assistance from this group with powders and weights of the same will be welcomed. The sabotless bullets run from 232 grains to 286 grains and the saboted from 125 to 180. The twist is 1 in 12. Hopefully I can post soon some of the loads and speeds attained with both. Jims........I too suspect that to attain repeatable and dependable accuracy with such a small bore in a muzzleloader that pressures of and in excess of 55,000 will be in order for sabotless shooting. These types of pressures could be hard on vent liners of course and I would be interested in your experience with loading and shooting of this particular caliber. Is this the same barrel that you ordered from Kreiger or a different one? Doug

Doug, Same barrel, now just two inches shorter than when I started. I know it is capable of over 3550 fps with sabots because it has already done that. Accuracy was not there however.

My goal is simple, less time for other peoples work and more time doing what I like. Have been trying to get there for years, hope it works out soon.

I'm going in the direction of home very soon. I've been here in Afghanistan for 11 months and have 4 left to go. When I get there I will be working up some loads for the new barrel Savage put on my MLII for me last year. It was returned to me on the last day of leave before I had to return here. So first thing will be to try out the BO 300s I picked up on sale at Midsouth. I will build a barrel cooler so I can shoot more in a given time frame. There is a old MLII that I picked up on Gun Broker that is waiting for me. Haven't decided if I want to turn this into a 40 yet or not. Seriously thinking about it though. I'll know when I find out if it's a shooter as a 50 or not when I get back. This is the older model that takes the modules so I am up in the air about it but the price was really right. And the last thing I am going to work on is spending more time on here getting to know all of you. I have much respect for the fellas on here and appreciate all the help and hope to be able to help out others and keep up the tradition.

tasaman, thank you for serving and give that .50 a good look before you make it into a .40. It may be too good to mess with!
