I ordered a musket nipple for my white mountain carbine and then I bought a high eye relief scope but when I got my scope(from Ebay) it was high eye relief but it was shorter than my old scope, so, even with high relief the scope is too short. I am ready to take a saw to the rifle stock!lol Is having a gun smith check my length of pull and shorting the stock a good idea? The stock is a little long for me.

Its like buying a pair of shoes, one size doesn't fit all. I would definitely have a good gun smith help you out. Once the gun fits you, it will make you a better and more confidante shooter.

If the stock is to long for you I would correct that first and then tackle the scpoe situation.

tackle the stock first. then deal with the scope. if you still have a problem, do the see threw mounts have a "lean" to them? if so do you have them on so it leans back to you?

Make sure the stock is to long for you before cutting, offset rings or a different base could solve your problem.

Hey 272, The White Mountain Carbine comes with a recoil pad installed. If you really need to shorten it you could remove the recoil pad and install a T/C metal butt plate. I'm not sure how much you would shorten it, I'd have to get out some guns and do some cipherin', but it may work out for you. Muznut is correct. Make real sure your LOP is the problem.
