Still looking for something reasonable to put on my Savage. Seen were I can get a close out Weaver Classic 4X32 for 79.00 "they claim original price was like 239.00" Anyone have one of these? Just wondering if the 32mm is to small. I don't know a whole lot about scopes, figure most any shot I take will be within 50 to 150 yards. Too many trees to shoot thru in my area. Any advice or should I save my money till I can get a better scope? Thanks

Did you find it at Natchez? I've been trying to find this on their website and I just can't do it. If someone could post a link it would be much appreciated. I'm looking for some stats. I'm assuming it has descent eye relief but want to know for sure. Edited because I can't write good english

I got one from Natchez and love it. Quality! It will go on my 45 that shoots 300SSTs sabotless. It is a good buy, if it holds up as I fully expect it to. Rossman - thoughts?

Just before Meade sold Weaver to ATK/Federal the Weaver scopes were starting to get back on track and the higher end scopes were very good. Hopefully ATK/Federal will stay on the trend. These scopes come off the same line as Bushnell Elites, Nikon Monarchs, Sightrons and Nightforce so the potential is there.

I don't know about the quality of that particular scope. I think that it would depend on when it was actually made. You are right in your thinking that 4x would be plenty for anything out to 150 yards and even out to 200 yards if you are hunting deer. Woodchucks would be a slightly different matter.
Fixed magnification scopes have less moving parts in them and are more impervious to the shock that we tend to extend to the scopes when shooting high powered loads. I wouldn't hesitate to put a 4x scope on a Savage 10ML.

I have a Classic on my 45cal Disc Extreme It's a nice scope, it's clear and bright but at 150 yards the cross-hairs completely cover a 8.5 inch wide piece of paper. I will be taking it off and putting something else on this gun latter this year.

I will be taking it off and putting something else on this gun latter this year. That must be a healthy reticle to cover up a 8 1/2" section at only 150 yards. Possibly since it is listed as a shotgun scope it isn't expected to be used for precise shooting. I like the fact that it only weighs 8 oz. I might order one for my new .45 project and if the reticle is too thick I will just ship it back to Natchez. However it might be a very good dim light scope. Doug

I have 3 of the 4.75 x 40 classics (I think they are 40). I got them from Natchez, none of them held up to the savage, I've got 3 bad scopes and unless you have the original receipt those people won't even talk to you. For a "cheap" scope I've been using the 4 x 32 nikon pro-staff scope it's held up on EVERY gun I've put in on from savage ml's to my 06. Good clairity and very stable. Currently have them installed on a savage ml, 30-06, 8 x 57 mauser, 338 federal, knight disc and a 7 x 57. I haven't used them on any mag's but after a savage ml I see no reason why it would be fine there too. Oh yes they are warrantied forever
