There have been questions lately about what different scope reticles look like so i am going to post a link to a site that shows many different reticle types by different manufacturers. Most of the German #4 reticles that i have seen in the past, generally resemble the Swarovski #4NK with the very heavy lower crosshairs. This might make a good link to add to a "Tips & Hints" section here on the board for everybody's future reference since these questions come up from time to time? www.binocularsdirect.com/rsrf.htmlDONEdougva.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Savage&thread=3365&page=1

Thats a good link Kerry. There is one thing I want to mention to anyone thinking about a Zeiss Conquest. The #20 (Z-Plex) reticle shown for the Zeiss scopes is not the same across the Conquest product line. The one they show looks like the reticle on the 3-9x40 where the heavy posts extend close to the center of the scope. On the 44 & 50 mm objective Conquest scopes the #20 reticle looks more like the #8 in the image where the heavy outer posts do not extend as far toward the center of the scope. If you are considering a Conquest try to go somewhere that you can compare them. I have the 3.5-10x44 and perfer the more "open" look of the plex on that scope compared to the 3-9x40. To me it gives a less obstructed view of the target, however the one on the 3-9 might be better for first or last light hunting.

The Z-plex on the 4.5-14X44 is the best I know of for very low light and is not at all intrusive during regular daylight hours.

I like it too Harley. The reticle Harley refers to is the same reticle in the 3-9x50, 3.5-10x44, & 3.5-10x50. As I said in my previous post, the Z-Plex on the 3-9x40 reticle has less space between the heavy posts of the duplex. If you look at the boxes and product literature of each of these scopes they all say #20 and/or Z-Plex but the one on the 3-9x40 is definately different.
