After the first good rain this deer season, I thought the deer would be on their feet... Well I was kind of right, we seen one deer and it was the best buck we have had in range so I elected to take the shot. I hunted for 18 straight days, so it felt good to release an arrow!! This buck was cruising actively seeking does, he was on the move... I am going to say he is a smaller than average 3.5 yr old. Not an ounce of fat on him he dressed 155, had a nice antler gore wound in his rump. He had been running pretty hard this yr. Which is understandable since we have slaughtered the doe population up here with the EAB in archery the last two-three yrs.
