Is it necessary on a 45-70 conversion to relieve the muzzle, like the T/C & CVA's, so the sabot will start easier? Would it affect accuracy at all?
Thanx,

I don't know that it's necessary but I sure like the one SMI put on my .50 douglas barrel. Makes loading a breeze and no accuracy problems both saboted and sabotless.

Had it done on my Knight disc and it helped a lot, just wondering on the smokeless if it affected accuracy at all.

JohnP As long as the crown is done correctly, it wouldn't matter whether said crown is at the end of the muzzle or into the barrel. Your Knight effectively has its crown inside the barrel.
